Financial Economic Theory - Material

The JAM Study Guide for Financial Economic Theory and Engineering will be available June 1st, 2009. The JAM Cards will be available June 30th, 2009. Both can be purchased from The Actuarial Bookstore, Slide Rule Books, and Actex Publications.

The syllabi for the essay exams are very large. The JAM Study Guide is designed to help you organize the overwhelming mound of material and make sense of the difficult sections. This will save you time, energy and give you a better chance to pass on the first try. In addition to a detailed outline of each section of the syllabus, there is also a condensed outline of the entire syllabus that can be used as a memorizing list right before the exam (the JAM Cards can also help with memorization). Over 30 original exam-caliber sample essay problems with solutions are included. The essay problems have solutions in a grading outline format to help you better formulate your essay answers to maximize your points. Past essay questions and solutions from Course 8V that are applicable for this exam are included. There is also some general test-taking advice (not guaranteed of course!!).
